Ninth Heaven is pleased to welcome **Chidịụsọ Ajaero** to its advisory board.

Chidịụsọ joins the board as an independent scholar whose work sits at the meeting point of Igbo and wider African studies, classical learning, law, language, and literary translation. Her counsel will strengthen Ninth Heaven’s continuing work of bringing literature, art, scholarship, and civilisational memory into serious conversation.

She has recently been admitted as a **barrister and solicitor of the Supreme Court of South Australia**, a significant professional milestone that adds further depth to the legal, intellectual, and civic perspective she brings to the Association. She also previously worked within **PwC Australia’s Advisory practice**, namely its **PwC Private** team.

## Law, Classics, and Intellectual Tradition

Her studies formed a sustained interest in classical history, languages, and texts, as well as in the ways older traditions of thought are preserved, translated, and renewed.

Her scholarship is marked by a strong passion for the preservation of African intellectual traditions, with particular attention to Igbo cultural memory and the wider inheritance of African thought. This work accords closely with Ninth Heaven’s own concern for literary seriousness, cultural continuity, and the recovery of enduring sources of wisdom.

During her time at university, she served in the Classics and Ancient History Society and the Adelaide Sustainability Association, roles that reflect both her humanistic commitments and her interest in public service.

Her academic and literary achievements include the **Galatis Medal for First Year Ancient Greek**, first place in the **Catherine Martin Literary Award**, a **Gold Award in the Royal Commonwealth Junior Essay Competition**, the **Lutheran Young Women’s Award**, and repeated recognition in the **Oliphant Science Awards**.

## Service, Language, and Literature

Chidịụsọ’s voluntary and community work has included the **International Youth Neuroscience Association**, **UN Youth Australia**, **Translators Without Borders**, **Wikimedia Igbo**, the **Roma Mitchell Community Legal Centre**, and the **Women’s Legal Service (SA)**. Across these commitments, she has worked in spaces concerned with education, language, access to knowledge, legal service, and cultural stewardship.

An enthusiastic lover of literature, she is currently working on a full-length translation of a Shakespeare play.

---

We are grateful to have Chidịụsọ’s judgment, learning, and breadth of vision on the advisory board, and we look forward to the contribution she will make to Ninth Heaven’s work in the years ahead.
