“Monks, just as the delightful parks, delightful groves, landscapes, & lotus ponds in this Jambudīpa are few, while the ridges & hollows, the river ravines, the tracts of stumps & thorns, the craggy irregularities are more numerous, in the same way, those who have gained the taste of the goal, the taste of the Dhamma, the taste of release are few, while those who have not gained the taste of the goal, the taste of the Dhamma, the taste of release are more numerous.

“Therefore, monks, you should train yourselves: ‘We will gain the taste of the goal, the taste of the Dhamma, the taste of release.’ That’s how you should train yourselves.”
